Hi, I’m Karli and I teach yoga classes and workshops around the Penzance and west Cornwall area and occasional classes in Spain and Switzerland, where I spend my summer weeks.
I work with a broad range of people including sports enthusiasts, surfers and people suffering with ailments such as bad backs, necks and shoulders, anxiety, insomnia and depression. I occasionally work with local primary and secondary schools teaching yoga as part of the childrens physical education.
I have been honoured to study with many great yoga teachers worldwide, and each of these have influenced and enhanced my own practice to create the style that I teach today – KarliYoga. I have also practiced many different styles of yoga including – Hatha – Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinni yoga, Vinyasa Krama, Sivananda, Anusara and Dynamic yoga – each system offers an authenticity, beauty and uniqueness and this is why I decided to train with a school that would allow, and encourage, me to encompass an eclectic and creative method of teaching.
My personal journey of practising yoga has been mainly influenced by the teachers essence, enthusiasm, knowledge and presence, as opposed to the set styles to which they may follow.
My classes unite a respect of alignment and a strong awareness of mindful movement, using the flow of the breath. My hatha/vinyasa style will allow you to build strength and flexibility, through working dynamically, whilst teaching you techniques that will support the fluidity of your practice.
No matter what physical condition you are in, yoga can help on many levels, assisting with the turnaround of bad habits, especially postural ones – and as with anything, the more you put in, the more you’ll get out of it!
Physically you’ll become more toned, increase stamina, strength and flexibility – mentally, it cultivates calmness, nourishes contentment and increases alertness and concentration – emotionally, you’ll experience more balance.
