However, the prospect of running for fun was quickly put to bed, after collapsing once again when attempting to take a gentle jog around Holland Park at the age of 23.
16 years on, and other than the odd mile on a treadmill, I really have stayed away from running. Hence why the lead up to Tuff Enuff came with enough panic. Often wondering why on earth I was even entering such a challenge.
On reflection, I am so glad I did. The simple fact that I got to experience light, pain free running has given me a great sense of wellbeing and sheer delight Feeling fitter at 40 (well, not quite 40, but we’re talking a few months!) than I ever did at 20 or 30 is quite empowering.
My yoga practice has completely transformed my physical structure through committed asana (posture work) and pranayama (breathing techniques) – My respiratory system is free flowing and my muscular and skeletal systems move with more strength, flexibility and eases. All of the above, coupled with a clear focus, made for a perfect cocktail of fun with friends. Forever grateful – Love and light Kx
