My fascination continues to grow in the field of Body, Mind Connection, and Body Centred therapies as a way of helping to release held trauma with-in. We even hold on to trauma in our organs! In my experience and understanding of the world, pretty much all of us are consumed by trauma in some way or form. Scientific Studies are witnessing more and more the importance of both somatic psychological approaches; Yoga, Body Psychotherapy, Authentic Movement, Body Listening therapy – as well as cognitive therapies; Counselling, Psychotherapy etc… when it comes to helping heal imbalances of both the body and the mind. As the two are very much connected. When the body feels tired and depleted, as too does the mind, and vice versa.

I have been working privately with clients from a variety of backgrounds for several years now; some come to me via Mental Health programmes, others due to ill physical health and some simply wanting to learn the art of embodiment as a tool to aid their physical and mental wellbeing. Each person is totally unique in their needs and requirements, which requires an individual and often creative approach. We begin on a journey through the body together exploring all the layers (in yoga known as the Pancha Kosha’s; Body, Breath, Emotion, Wisdom & Bliss). This therapeutic approach of embodiment, awareness and process begins as a self exploration ‘getting to know yourself; Bodylistening. This is often where our therapeutic voyage begins; I find this initially works well and helps invite the client back into their body. As modern day lifestyles tend to keep us mainly in our head space and this in itself can deplete and exhaust. From here each client takes me on a unique journey with them whilst I simply offer a safe space coupled with a few years of experience and knowledgable tools to help assist the process. The body really does keep the score, and I feel a huge amount of gratitude and appreciation for the work I continue to offer. This work continues to humble me on every level.
