Body Centred Therapy Sessions with Karli

 Body Centred Therapy

First session  1.5hr £50 – Further sessions 1hr £35 (Block of 6 £200)

Working at a more personal level can be really helpful if you are new to the practice of yoga, or, if attending a public class seems a little overwhelming at first, or, if you are wanting to focus on specific ‘Issues in your tissues’ ; I’ve worked with clients consumed by Motor-Neuron’s, Parkinson’s, Bi-polar, Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD…  I’m really passionate about exploring how body centred approaches to psychotherapy can help a person better cope with physical and mental imbalances.

  • Although Yoga is my professional model; I have spent many years both practicing yoga and teaching it full time with groups and private clients.
  • I am also qualified in different somatic and cognitive therapeutic approaches; Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher (100RTY) – Crisis & Trauma Counselling (BYS) – Body Listening Therapy; Modern Body Centred Therapy/Somatic Psychology – A grounding in Body Psychotherapy (BSFET) – plus I am currently training in the body centred psychotherapy framework of Pesso Boyden with PBUK.
  • My fascination continues to grow in the field of Body, Mind Connection, and Body Centred therapies as a way of helping to release held trauma with-in. We even hold on to trauma in our organs you know! In my experience and understanding of the world, pretty much all of us are consumed by trauma in some way or form. Scientific Studies are witnessing more and more the importance of both somatic psychological approaches; Yoga, Body Psychotherapy, Authentic Movement, Body Listening therapy (bottom up therapies) as well as cognitive therapies; Counselling, Psychotherapy etc…(top down approaches) when it comes to helping heal imbalances of both the body and the mind. As the two are very much connected. When the body feels activated or depleted, as too does the mind, and vice versa.
  • “Karli’s Therapeutic 121 sessions are really impressive and helpful. The combination of mindfulness, therapy, meditation and yoga is an incredibly effective way of looking at your emotions, but most importantly, feeling them in your body. This is so important in the healing process, and something that can be missed in more traditional therapy. Karli is very compassionate and intuitive, and creates a safe and welcoming space in which the client and the practitioner work together. I benefited hugely from these sessions, and feel confident that Karli has given me the tools to continue an emotional growth and deeper understanding of myself. I highly recommend!”   Cari S

“ I’ve just completed three 1.2.1 sessions with Karli, which were given to me as a birthday present. Karli is an incredibly skilled and experienced practitioner but she is also a brilliant instructor – compassionate, caring and very interested in her students and what works best for their particular bodies and minds. I gained a great deal from these individual sessions, from tweaks I can apply to more basic poses to how to develop the strength and confidence to tackle more advanced postures. If you are just starting out on your yoga journey then I also recommend Karli. Two years ago, when I started yoga and was a complete novice, I had a few sessions with her. She clearly did something very right as, since then, I’ve become totally hooked!“  Dr Clare Makepeace
