KarliYoga’s Yummy Golden Milk Powder Mix
I first read about the numerous health properties that Turmeric offered to us when I discovered I had a genetic condition of high cholesterol and began some research into the best ways of helping myself.
I’m not claiming for one second that Turmeric is a cure in any way or form, but I am claiming that what I began to read about this little ray of healthy sunshine spice intrigued me enough to start researching it further, so I did…
I found out that there is a lot of evidence suggesting that Turmeric, when mixed with other friends such as black pepper and fat, can act as a natural antibiotic, a natural anti inflammatory, a natural antioxidant, a friend to high cholesterol and studies are currently being conducted, as I type, as to its positive affects on alzheimers and dementia.
What is not to love?! Especially when mixed with other spice compadres, it tastes really good.
So I started to blend up a few spices to experiment. I really wanted to add this “super spice” into my everyday life without having to eat a curry every day!
I wanted to replace my morning coffee with something a tad healthier. I’ve been enjoying it now, each morning, for a couple of years.
The story goes like this.
I would often share my recipe with friends and students. They would often ask for it again, due to forgetting. So I decided to mix up a few small batches myself and offer them out.
This year it got to the point where instead of just doing bits here and there I stocked up on larger amounts of the mixture and popped it into a small jar with a few stickers of its own. A product was born.
I wasn’t prepared for the sheer interest this wee jar of golden goodness would attract. I sold over 100 in 3 weeks, just in my yoga classes alone.
You can now buy it in Archie Browns – both Penzance and Truro & The Allotment on Fore Street in St Ives.
Plus, I now have a Facebook page (link below) for all tips and feedback about the mixture. Already I have heard about other great ways of consuming it if you don’t like milky drinks. Some add it to their porridge, some prefer it in a smoothy. As long as you manage to get at least a good teaspoon full into your daily life, maybe sometimes 2! then great. Enjoy, stay well, and don’t forget your health is your wealth. Spend time taking care of you. Only then are we able and equipped to help another. <3 Kx
